SCHOOL WEBSITE DESIGN COURSE

To access your website settings click the cog icon (above the eye) in the left menu.

This will load the General settings first.

GENERAL

Here you can add your website name and upload a favicon and a social sharing image.

DOMAINS

Here you will see your system domain.  You can connect to your chosen domain by clicking Connect to an Existing Domain and entering your domain.  You will then be given details of how to point your domain to your website.  We will go into more detail on how to connect a domain in the next module.

LANGUAGE & TIME

Here you can select your Website Language .  This will be used for built-in texts like "Cart" or "Login", "Preview", etc.

You can also select your Website Time Zone and Date Format.

COOKIES & GDPR

Depending on where your website visitors are located you may need to comply with certain laws and regulations.

In this section, you can set up a Cookie Disclaimer.  This is important, especially for EU Cookie Law Compliance.

You can

• Choose to show the cookie disclaimer to visitors from the EU
• Enter Disclaimer Text . 
• Enter "More Info" Button Text
• Enter the URL for the Button
• Enter "Accept" Button text

If your website operates in the EU you will need to be GDPR compliant.

If your visitor shares their personal data you need to provide them with a way to access or delete the data you have stored on them.  You can add a form to your website to allow your users to request a copy of their data or request to delete their data.

When a user requests their data or for their data to be deleted you can click REQUEST CUSTOMER DATA at the bottom of Cookies & Privacy Settings area.

Click Add an Application to connect your website to

• Mailchimp
• Facebook Pixel
• Get Response
• Active Campaign
• Your Email Server

PERSONALIZATIONS

When you created your website you were asked for your school address, email etc.  This information is stored under the Personalizations tab.  We use personalizations to add your school information to different areas in the site such as the footer and contact page.  

You can view the personalizations and change the details here.  Each personalization has a tag e.g. {email} 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX which can be used in the builder.  However, when your visitor views this they will see the information in the personalization tag.

You can preview your website by clicking the eye icon.

CUSTOM CODE

If you are experienced with website coding you can add your own code to the website here.  This is also useful if you want to add tracking codes for Google Analytics.

PAGE SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.  There are lots of ways to optimize your website for search engines.  One way is to add information to the page SEO settings. 

Here you can

• add a Page title
• add a Meta Description
• add a Share Image
• and add the page to the sitemap

All of this information helps search engines understand what your page is about.  Make sure the information here matches the content on your page.

FILE MANAGER

Whenever you upload images or files to your website it will be stored in the file manager.  You can view all of the images or all of the files here.  You can also upload a file and add folders in the file manager.
